Greetings!
As an observing Introvert, I've noted for some
time how a knowledge and use of type theory
enhances our relationships. In fact, just
remembering the strengths and differences of
Extraverts & Introverts can be a powerful tool in our
lives. Therefore, we decided to devote this and
the next three issues to discussing each of the four
behavior dimensions - Energy, Information, Decision
&
Action - and the two preferences associated with
each dimension.
The article on Your Leadership Story from
The
TYPE
Reporter gives valuable information on how each
of
us can be a leader by using the four key behaviors -
Feeling, Sensing, Intuition and Thinking - to speak
like a leader.
I hope that this information is as helpful in your life
as it is in mine. This is simple and easy to
understand, but profound when remembered and
applied!
REDUCE STRESS/FRICTION IN RELATIONSHIPS & IMPROVE HEALTH BY UNDERSTANDING & USING TYPE THEORY - Extravert or Introvert |
|
The first dimension of behavior in type theory is how
our Energy is gathered - Extravert or
Introvert. An indepth understanding and application
of this information can be profoundly powerful in your
life - with working associates, family relationships,
and health.
The common way people interact is to project their
way of thinking and feeling onto others. We look
through our
lens of behavior and expection at others and judge
them if they don't behave likewise.
This doesn't work and is the basis of the negative
results we're getting in our business and personal
relationships.
When I learned about my preference for gathering
energy as an Introvert, I began to manage my
activities making sure that I had enough time for
reflection and thinking things through - "alone" time.
This simple
change in my behavior, completely eliminated the
"stress headaches" I endured weekly for
most of my life that had literally crippled me for days
at a time.

EVERYONE A LEADER - Four Key Behaviors of Leadership - Your Leadership Story |
|
"What if all you had to do to be a leader was
speak and listen in a slightly different way, and
suddenly, you would be connecting with others and
changing the world?"
When most of us think of "leaders," we think of
other people. We think of those rare people
who seem to have extraordinary passion, unusual
intelligence, super-human energy and NO fear. When
most of us think of leaders, we don't think of
ourselves.
Successful leaders speak in a way that people
become excited about what they are saying and
want to be part of what they are doing. What if
that was all there is to being a leader - the ability to
speak in a way that drew people towards you and to
listen in a way that connected you with others?
Effective leaders don't attack! Use Feeling to
speak about what brings you
joy. What do you stand for? What are your
passions? What do you lead people towards? What
is your "leadership story?"

What clients are saying about us.....
Following the merger of four multi-billion dollar
aerospace companies, I was asked to lead a
technology transition team chartered to integrate
and develop the combined technologies.
The PEOPLE Process proved to be an invaluable tool
for choosing and building the team comprised of
scientists, engineers and physicists that are among
the top in the world. Because the technical
community often emphasizes the technical (hard
stuff) over the people (soft stuff), the materials
provided a powerful, unique and practical way to get
the team members to understand and complement
their differences and strengths. Above all, it was
key to developing strong personal and professional
relationships and enabled effective communication
among team members who had been arch rivals and
competitors for many years prior to the merger.

We have found this product to be effective in
training diplomats in negotiation and crisis
management skills, retrenched fishermen in job
seeking skills, managers in hi-tech organizations in
career development, hospital emergency-room staff
in managing conflict encounters, civil servants in time
management skills, trainers in advanced facilitation
skills, and entrepreneurs in new business start-ups.
Without exception, participants have been able to
relate easily to the use of the system, are amazed at
the uncanny accuracy of the personality type profile,
and have been able to apply The PEOPLE Process in
their daily work.

...a great tool to help team members understand
themselves and their teammates better. My clients
love it because it has been delightfully accurate and
is a practical "take-away" that they can share with
the significant people in their lives. I highly
recommend it as a key tool for facilitators to use to
assess personality type preferences.
